This is a picture of MG Chris Donahue of the 82nd Airborne boarding the final C-17 flight out of Kabul.  He was the last U.S. service member on the ground.

So what comes next?  As of right now, the Kabul airport remains closed.  We hope it reopens by next week at which time commercial and charter flights will resume.  When that happens we will go back to purchasing commercial airfare for SIV recipients and their family members.

We are also looking at charter flights, but most of the regional carriers provide very little details.  We are in a position where we must protect the donations entrusted to us and are not sending payments out the door without clear documentation.  We are mission focused and will not be reckless with any donations.

We are tracking almost 200 Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders who followed the State Department's guidance and sheltered in place.  They did not make it to the airport.  They are left behind.  We are tracking over 1,000 SIV applicants who are somewhere in the SIV process pipeline who are in the same situation.  Everyone is in hiding.

So now we wait for the Taliban to respond to the international community...
