Advocate for the Repeal of Firearm Magazine Size Limit in Colorado

Advocate for the Repeal of Firearm Magazine Size Limit in Colorado
The Issue
As a resident of Colorado and a law-abiding citizen, I am deeply impacted by the current regulations which prohibit various magazine sizes commonly found in firearms. These limitations effectively make several firearms, which could otherwise be legally utilized, to be deemed illegal. This hinders not only the enjoyment of firearm enthusiasts, but also critically impinges on our fundamental Second Amendment rights.
Colorado law, since 2013, limits a firearm's magazine size to 15 rounds for handguns, eight rounds for shotguns, and six rounds for semi-automatic shotguns, effectively outlawing numerous firearms having larger magazine sizes. Despite the intent being to reduce violence, the fact remains that crime rates are more likely to be affected by socioeconomic factors. Reiterating the findings of a study by Harvard University, it was concluded that there is no correlation between firearm law stringency and crime rates (Soule, 2007).
By repealing the limiting laws, we will uphold the Second Amendment rights of Colorado citizens and provide a fairer arena for law-abiding firearm owners. Even as we respect differing views, it remains essential for our laws to be reasonable, fair, and most importantly, to uphold the constitution. So, we challenge the restriction on magazine size in efforts to restore lawful firearm ownership in Colorado, hence ensuring the preservation of our liberty.
Stand with us, support our cause, and let's join voices to repeal laws limiting magazine sizes of firearms in Colorado. Please, sign this petition.
