Advocate for the Release of Wrongfully Convicted Marcellus Williams
Advocate for the Release of Wrongfully Convicted Marcellus Williams
The Issue
My father experienced a similar fate—erroneously accused and suffering behind bars for a crime he didn't commit. This experience has allowed me to sympathize deeply with Marcellus Williams, who is trapped in a situation no less different. Marcellus Williams is currently incarcerated and facing the death sentence despite substantial evidence pointing to his innocence. Since his trial, key evidence and testimonies have been uncovered indicating that Marcellus may have been wrongfully convicted. Unfortunately, the judicial system has repeatedly failed to act upon this new-found information, disregarding its potential to alter the course of justice. This is not an isolated incident; numerous studies have found that at least 4% of people on death row are likely to be innocent (Source: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences). We cannot stand passively as innocent lives, like Marcellus and my father, are detrimentally affected. Let's collectively raise our voices against this gross miscarriage of justice by urging the concerned authorities to review Marcellus's case and repeal his unwarranted death sentence. Your signature can make a difference— sign this petition and stand for justice.
