Advocate for the Adoption of Ben Tegtmeier's License Plate Design

The Issue

As a resident of Kansas, I've been frustrated, along with many others, since our governor released her first license plate design. The subsequent designs have been nothing more than color variations of the original. This has left us feeling unheard and unrepresented. We believe that as Kansans, we should have a say in the design of something as ubiquitous and representative as our license plates.

Ben Tegtmeier, a fellow Kansan, has created an alternative design that truly captures the spirit and uniqueness of our state. Unlike the generic designs we've been given so far, Ben's design is visually appealing and distinct.

The current situation is not just about aesthetics; it also impacts our sense of identity and pride in being Kansan. A study by Columbia University found that symbols representing a community can significantly influence residents' sense of belonging (Columbia University Study on Community Symbols).

We are calling on our mayor to recognize this issue and advocate for the adoption of Ben Tegtmeier's license plate design at state level. It’s time to give Kansas license plates that reflect who we are as a community rather than settling for uninspiring designs.

Stand with us in this cause by signing this petition today! Let's show them what it means to be truly Kansan!
