The lack of childcare in our town is a critical concern.

Petrolia has many great amenities, but a lack of childcare impacts workers at every level of this town’s infrastructure.

Not having access to daycare or before and after school care means many of the services we rely on are in jeopardy. This should alarm everyone! From your morning coffee, to your chest X-ray, your child’s education and extracurriculars, without childcare, these things don’t happen.

We should have the option to work and parent, not feel forced to settle for an “only option” childcare spot or letting go of a career.  

We need tactical solutions, not inadequate “four year plans”.  Petrolia needs to establish safe environments, with nurturing professionals to care for the children of the community so that we can pursue our purpose.
