I am a dog lover, and it pains me to see the plight of street dogs in our community. Instead of resorting to inhumane methods such as killing these innocent creatures, we should be focusing on more compassionate solutions like sterilization, vaccination, and sheltering.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are approximately 200 million stray dogs worldwide. These animals often suffer from malnutrition, disease, and abuse from humans. Killing them is not only cruel but also ineffective as it does not address the root causes of overpopulation.

We propose that local authorities implement humane population control measures such as Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs which have been proven effective in many communities around the world. The American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) states that TNR reduces nuisance behavior associated with strays while allowing them to live out their lives without adding to the homeless population.
