Advocate for Fair Minimum Wage in Texas!

Advocate for Fair Minimum Wage in Texas!

The Issue

From 2009 to the present, Texas's minimum wage has stayed at $7.25 an hour. While this may seem good and okay to first-time employees, they soon realize that this money will not be able to support them in the long term if they keep the job as it is. People can often go homeless or must be forced to sell their possessions due to these wages affecting them.

Rapidly rising inflation means it's hard to even buy groceries, as prices are equivalent to about 2 hours of work for something like a piece of fruit or a meal. This causes things such as fast food, which is still relatively cheap but rising in price, to be the safer but less healthy option in the long run.

All in all, we urge the nation to increase its minimum wage to be more fair with the ever-rising prices since 2009 and forward. These can help people sustain living and cause them to be less stressed due to their financial stability.
