The Issue

Three years ago, Bailey, a loving and joyful Yorkie, became a cherished part of my family at just 8 weeks old. Circumstances were such that I, heartbroken, had to place her in a rescue center because my mother, who was living with us, faced potential fall risks, and it seemed the only safe option at the time. However, life has since taken a new turn, and my mother has graciously moved to Georgia with my sister, opening the possibility for Bailey to come back home where she belongs.

Bailey was more than just a pet; she is a loyal companion and an integral part of our daily lives. Her absence has been deeply felt, especially by my other dog, who misses her dearly. Despite understanding the rescue center's policies, I am filled with despair because even though Bailey hasn't been adopted yet, the center refuses her return to me.

I don't oppose vaccinations, and I am more than willing to keep her vaccinations updated — something essential to reuniting with Bailey. I believe she deserves to spend her life with the person she has known and loved since she was a puppy.

I urge everyone to understand the bond between humans and their pets, and to understand that rules, while in place for good reasons, sometimes need to be adaptable to compassionate circumstances. Bailey is not just an animal but a beloved family member who rightfully deserves to be reunited with her loving home.

Please stand with me in petitioning the rescue center to allow Bailey to return to a safe, loving, and welcoming home where she is eagerly awaited and deeply missed. Sign this petition to advocate for love, understanding, and compassion, so Bailey can return to her rightful home and bring joy back to our family.
