Like many other colleagues in our class, I've found myself stressed and overwhelmed with the volume and depth of content that we're expected to understand for the unit exam. hat's why we are solemnly appealing to Angela, our course coordinator, to consider making the unit exam open note.

Open note exams have been shown to relieve exam-related stress among students. Research from the University of California, Berkeley, suggests that open note exams can be as challenging as closed note exams, and can even improve learning and retention of course material (UC Berkeley's Center for Teaching & Learning). They require students to organize their thoughts and notes, promoting higher-order thinking.

With so many other stressors in our lives right now, an open note exam seems like the fair and empathetic approach. By signing this petition, we are collectively asking Angela to reconsider the format of our exam and promote an environment that considers our mental health and academic success.
