Advocate for a Tram Line Along Wadsworth Blvd, Colorado

Advocate for a Tram Line Along Wadsworth Blvd, Colorado
The Issue
For many of us living in Lakewood and Denver, Colorado, issues of mobility and sustainable transport are personal, yet community-based concerns. Public transit and the reduction of carbon emissions are critical to our quality of life and stand as symbols of our commitment to climate responsiveness.
The message is clear: we need to see a Bus Rapid Transit line or a Tram Line established up and down Wadsworth Blvd, opening up access and improving the lives of people in our community, especially those without cars or with physical disabilities.
As a community, we have seen the benefits of Bus Rapid Transit systems in other locations, providing faster service because of dedicated lanes, traffic signal priority, and less frequent stops compared to regular bus services (Source: American Public Transport Association). A system such as this could dramatically improve our daily transit experience in Colorado.
Similarly, Tram Lines, like in Portland, Oregon, have made daily commutes efficient while cutting down city emissions significantly (Source: Oregon Department of Transportation). Our community deserves this positive change and sustainable solution.
By using public transit, we can not only enhance accessibility for those most in need but also contribute to vital environmental goals, reducing traffic congestion, and decreasing air pollution. It's time to put our community's needs and values into action. We ask the Regional Transportation District (RTD) to consider our request seriously and move our city one step closer to a sustainable and inclusive future.
Please, join us in taking this community-driven action and add your signature to encourage RTD to establish a Bus Rapid Transit or Tram Line. Together, we can shape the future of our transportation. Sign the petition today.
