The three levels of the Order of Canada recognize the achievement of outstanding merit or distinguished service by Canadians who made a major difference to Canada.  Rocco Galati, as an individual Canadian, has done more to preserve our heritage, our rights as Canadians, and the fairness of justice than any other individual Canadian in recent years.  Rocco Galati has given of his legal expertise and talent, often at great personal expense, to challenge unfair, discriminatory and unConstitutional laws.  I can't think of anyone who better personifies the motto of the Order; "they desire a better country".
