Call for growth in communication and accountability between Edgewater's HOA & residents

The Issue

As residents of the Edgewater Townhome community, we call for changes to be made in the communication and accountability between the current builder controlled HOA and us as the residents. We understand that at this time, while the final phases of construction are yet to be completed, the HOA is controlled by JW Homes and managed by Advantage Management, but we do not believe that means that we should not be able to have an active position in making meaningful change in our community. At this time while being a resident of Edgewater is good, there are still concerns that impact the safety, sanitation, and overall comfort of the members of our community. The following are some of the concerns:

> Visitor Parking

> Dog waste clean up and enforcement

> Lighting in public areas

> Management of dumpster stations

Many of us have reached out seeking to find positive and possible solutions for these issues, and many more have expressed their concern that these issues exist. There has been little to no progress to resolve these issues, and when a solution is proposed it appears to that it either doesn’t meet the right ears, the ideas have been set aside as not plausible or refuted as ineffective. We do not desire to be a part of a community that is unable to overcome concerns such as the ones listed above just because the current control mechanisms don’t allow for residents to have meaningful participation in the decision making necessary for change.

As a signer of this petition, I commit to being a part of positive change for communication and accountability in the Edgewater Townhome community, and I call for Jack Williams Homes and Advantage Management to join me in this commitment as we seek to start this change when we meet on March 21st, 2019.
