This is a world class facility, the best in Europe and one of only a few vert ramps in the entire country. It is the only vert ramp in the UK with a resin ramp and may be the only one in Europe with one. Huge Local businesses and tax funded grants were provided to the Alley for this purpose designed high ceiling facility to make the Alley a world class venue. The ramp attracts people from all over the UK to it and could easily become an attraction for riders from all over Europe with a little more promotion. The Alley have a responsibility to all the people who donated money to set it up to be custodians of this very special unique facility and to protect it for future generations of bmx, skate, inline and scooter riders. It has already produced world class riders like Sam Beckett. It would be wrong to replace such a special facility with something that can easily be found in all skateparks. It would also lose the Alley its world class status and it would be the end of the dreams of a significant number of up and coming british bmx, skate, inline and scooter riders.
