Adopt maturity content rating policy for Grangeville Centennial Library

Adopt maturity content rating policy for Grangeville Centennial Library
The Issue
I want my community library to be a safe place for everyone. My children and yours deserve a voice. While signing up my children for summer reading one of my children pointed out books that made them uncomfortable from the free book cart. So I stand up and speak out for the voices that don’t have a vote or a say because our kids are asking to be protected from what is not age appropriate.
A good friend and myself are reading the books I personally pulled from the free summer reading book cart after my child pointed them out to me with concern. We are doing book reviews to be submitted to the library board.
My goal is to get the library to adopt a rating system to ensure age appropriate material can be identified and enforced, much like the movie ratings system.

My hopes of a petition are to show the library board that there are other concerned citizens within their community who believe a book rating system is a reasonable request to preserve freedom for all. The freedom to make an informed choice when picking books to read based on its content.
This will allow for the proper shelving of books based on content and identify at a glance the information any parent or child needs to make an informed decision when they go to pick out a library book with or without adult supervision.
