"Your Pet Experts" located within Berkshire Mall in Berks County has treated animals with neglect since its opening. As you enter the store, you will notice a variety of purebred puppies, from puppy mills, sitting in metal cages that do not include bedding, chew toys, and a water bottle (the kind you would put in a hamster's cage). These poor puppies all look very distressed, sad, and bored to death. They sleep in these wire cages every day and night, sleeping in feces and pee. Their paws slip through the metal cage bottoms. Sometimes, some are let into a little enclosed area. That is the only time these dogs are given any sort of exercise.

These dogs range from 1000-2000$. After purchased, the dogs tend to die within days to months and the store offers no refunds to heartbroken owners because of the store's cruel and greedy policies.. These dogs die quickly because they are shipped out from random breeders and puppy mills, while most likely inbred causing the health issues, alongside the negligence of the store's treatment of them.

I visited this location and noticed the puppies teething on metal because that is all they had to teeth on, rusted metal, which is unacceptable and horrible for their teeth and I imagine painful. I asked the workers to at least provide chew toys,  which they declined to do.

It is not just the puppies that suffer, but all animals in this store are treated poorly. You can take it upon yourself to read on Google reviews how many people have purchased animals from "Your Pet Experts" that either had a disease or died within 30 days of purchase or visit the store yourself.  I truly believe that this location should not be allowed to keep animals. These animals need to be rescued and surrendered.

There are too many dogs in shelters. Adopt, don't shop.
