The current dress code policies in Greenville county schools unfairly target and restrict students based on outdated gender norms and expectations. I firmly believe that education should empower students and provide them with an inclusive space where they can feel comfortable and confident. 

An inclusive and expressive dress code is a crucial step toward achieving this goal. It ensures that all students are treated equally, regardless of their gender identity or expression. With a fair dress code, students can focus on their education without the distractions by how uncomfortable they feel and stress caused by having to conform to rigid, outdated standards.

Across the country, progressive school districts have already successfully implemented no dress code rules. For instance, the international school of Greenville  have adopted policies that allow students to dress according to their individual preferences while maintaining appropriate standards for a learning environment. Their experiences demonstrate that such policies are not only feasible but also beneficial, leading to increased student morale and inclusivity. the ISOG (international school of greenville) has a 90.6% graduation rate while maudlin middle on the other hand has a 54% proficiency in reading and a 41% in math.
