Officer Jon Selke (Purdue Police Department) has violated laws of action of force clearly stated and mandated for police of West Lafayette Indiana. On February 4th, 2022, Selke carried out unlawful deadly force on a black individual on Purdue University campus grounds. Said individual has been identified as ADONIS TUGGLE. Upon Selke arriving on the scene, Tuggle was beaten relentlessly, forced into the snow, and pinned/choked with an elbow to the neck by the officer. The victim’s girlfriend, whom at the time remains unidentified, recorded the scene as she begged the officer to stop and for others around her to assist her. Tuggle shouted “You are choking me” numerous times to no avail. They have refused to release the body cam footage to the family. Private investigation took place however no further action or consequence took place. This remains true even after video evidence was relayed. The video is now sweeping its way through social media feeds where civilians  can determine the act of injustice for themselves. Purdue Student Government President and Vice President addressed the situation as an act of POLICE BRUTALITY when reaching out to students via email. Here we witness yet another display of police officers abusing their authority and using it to enact in unjust acts of violence when they should be the ones protecting us from just that. BE A PART OF THE CHANGE. HELP US TERMINATE OFFICER JON SELKE FROM HIS POSITION. HELP US CHARGE HIM WITH ASSULT. JUSTICE FOR ADONIS TUGGLE.
