Layer folders for Adobe After Effects

Layer folders for Adobe After Effects
The Issue
Adobe After Effects has been one of my most used programs for many years. The program has allowed me to make hundreds of animations, commercials and more. For the most part it does everything that I want it to do. However... there is one key feature missing in After effects. I have been requesting this for years, and I know many people who want it as well. But adobe doesn't seem to listen to it's costumers. What is the feature you might ask?: Layer folders
Simply put, it would be a folder right inside of your timeline, similar to the way adobe Flash handles them. You could select the folder, which would select all the layers under it and allows you to move them. You could collapse the folder to organize your timeline. Hide folders, lock folders, all the things you expect from a folder, basically.
This would be a HUGE timesaver for a lot of people. Yes, you can pre-comp. But making precomps makes it hard to offset the timing of individual layers, you will have to go inside the nested comps, and it can quickly become disorienting and chaotic. Which is the reason why me and many others try to pre-comp as little as possible. In order to still maintain a organized structure, layer folders would be the way to go.
By doing this petition I hope adobe will finally listen, and implement this feature in the near future. Do you work with After Effects regularly and want a more organized workflow? Then please, sign this petition, and let's hope adobe will finally listen.
