Extend Adobe CC Access for Students During Covid-19

Extend Adobe CC Access for Students During Covid-19
The Issue
After July 6, Adobe CC will no longer be available to students across the nation, despite a desperate need for at-home access and continued resources for our high school, college, and post-grad students. We ask that Adobe Inc. extend at-home access to Adobe CC for free or at a heavily discounted rate for schools who are already struggling with hefty budget cuts and a severe lack of resources.
Adobe Inc. stocks traded at their highest price EVER on Friday, June 12, 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic. In 2019, President/CEO Shantanu Narayen was compensated an astonishing total of $39,000,000, with his stock award increasing by over $10 million above the previous year's. As students around the world face the impacts of job layoffs, campus closures, caring for ill family members, and so much more in the wake of the current pandemic, thousands are also struggling to obtain the basic tools needed to continue their education, or are deferring or scaling back their education to recover from the effects of Covid-19. We must do better.
Adobe Inc. has offered limited access to its programs during campus closures, for which we are grateful. Our students, who will become the next leaders in areas like graphic design, photography, architecture, web design, entrepreneurship, engineering, animation, and dozens more, need further help. Many students are unable to afford a computer for use at home, much less a monthly payment for software that monopolizes their industry. Many schools have already committed to student safety by shifting into an online format for fall semester/quarter. Please sign to encourage Adobe Inc. to extend access through 2020 and into 2021 as the need arises.
In the meantime, I encourage educators to seek out alternative options to Adobe CC products for students to learn during their stay-at-home education. Let's keep our students flexing their creative muscles and learning without the strain of expensive software on their backs.
