Hi everyone,
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you so much for continuing to share this petiton and raise awareness about this important issue.
This week I have given an interview on local radio and also recorded an interview for greatest hits radio which is likely to be broadcast in the first week of January.
I have also featured in a few digital newspapers including Leedslive, Manchester evening news and Yorkshire live. This has resulted in a lot of activity on the comments thread of people discussing endometriosis which is great! Lots of people contacted me and asked to share their personal stories for our open letter and signed the petition. You can read one of the press pieces below.
It was reassuring to hear the response from Mr Tibbot at LTHT to the news article and petiton, he stated that many of our requests align with the departments ambitions for the service, so the task now is to persuade the decision makers at the hospital to fully support this department and what it needs!
I also met with Andrew Scopes who is the chair of the scrutiny for health committee in Leeds. He will be writing to the chief exec at LTHT about our concerns and is keen to support in other ways too and has even suggested a public scrutiny meeting if necessary.
We are still awaiting responses from several MPs and also the FOI request at the hospital, but we are making progress towards a large scale coordinated response from multiple angles that will hopefully ensure that LTHT take our concerns seriously and act on them.
I have hope that the new chief executive of LTHT is keen to listen to patients, given the recent damning CQC report and maternity scandal (that resulted in his being appointed) and that he will see this as an opportunity to publicly restore women's faith in this hospital and demonstrate that their concerns are taken seriously and acted upon in a timely manner to prevent another women's health scandal from happening.
