The Issue

I have been unfairly treated by the staff at the Housing Authority Kansas City located at 3822 Summit Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri since June of 2025. Despite my consistent efforts to bring attention to the untimely processing of information, constant lack of communication, misinformation given, and much more through face to face communications , email communications, and grievance attempts, I have faced continuous retaliatory behavior by staff members. This petition aims to halt such practices from affecting other applicants and to stimulate positive change within our local community.

The right to fair and unbiased treatment is fundamental for all individuals seeking housing assistance. Unfortunately, my situation is not an isolated case. Numerous reports suggest that these unfair, discriminatory practices are not uncommon within this institution. Discrimination based on race, gender, or economic status should have no place in any housing authority, which exists to serve and support people from all walks of life.

A comprehensive review of the practices at the Kansas City Housing Authority is needed. It is imperative that this institution enforces policies that support equitability and transparency. I urge local authorities to conduct a transparent investigation into the housing authority's operations to identify and rectify any biased or unfair practices that have gone unnoticed for too long.

Moreover, the implementation of regular training sessions for staff on anti-discrimination and equality would foster an environment based on respect and fairness. This can be further supported by setting up a monitoring system for reported incidents to ensure accountability.

Your support can catalyze the much-needed reform in the Kansas City Housing Authority. Let's stand together to ensure fairness and justice for all current and future applicants seeking housing solutions. Sign this petition to demand change and to protect the rights of those who need it most.
