Address traffic congestion at Palm Springs Road, Ravenhall
The issue
Every day, the team I manage at one of the sites in Ravenhall faces a daunting challenge - simply getting home after a long shift. The traffic congestion in the Dexus Industrial Park known as Horizion 3023 along Palm Springs Road and the adjoining roundabout has become a source of endless frustration, not only for my team but for other businesses located in the area.
Currently during peak times, the wait time to exit Palm Springs Road and access the roundabout can reach an unbearable 45 minutes. This is not just a minor inconvenience; it severely impacts the productivity, safety, and long-term viability of the businesses in area. This Ravenhall is experiencing rapid development, with a growing number of buildings and businesses. Unfortunately, one end of Palm Springs Road remains the sole access point for all traffic entering and exiting the precinct, and it's no longer sustainable. Without proper planning and investment, this situation is destined to worsen, further affecting the welfare of its residents not to mention a possible accident due to the behaviour of people trying to get out of the park.
We urge Dexus, the property developer/owner, VIC Roads and the Melton City Council to collaborate on immediate and effective solutions to this pressing problem. Potential measures could include the expansion of existing roads, the creation of additional access points, or the implementation of traffic management systems to ensure smoother flow.
Statistics and research highlight the detrimental effects of traffic congestion, not only on individual commutes but also on economic productivity. Investing in infrastructure is crucial to preventing further disruption and ensuring the area can continue to thrive.
Sign this petition to demand immediate action from Dexus, VIC Roads and the Melton City Council. Our community deserves better planning and infrastructure to keep pace with growth, ensuring that workers, businesses, and residents can move safely and efficiently. Your voice can make a difference. Let's work together to solve the traffic problem at Palm Springs Road, Ravenhall.
