I am a concerned parent within the Neelyville High School District, and I am heartbroken by the selective and inconsistent enforcement of policies that adversely affect our children. I've personally witnessed the dress code being applied differently for students, with some being singled out while others face no repercussions for identical attire. This inconsistency not only fosters a toxic school environment but also teaches our children that rules are arbitrary.

Moreover, the issue extends to communication and access. While some children are permitted to use the office phone, others are arbitrarily denied this basic right, which can be essential for their safety and well-being. This seemingly random allocation of privileges sends a troubling message about fairness and equality in our school district.

What is even more concerning is the apparent lack of communication between parents and the school administration. Many parents fear to voice their concerns because of the potential retaliation against their children. This environment of fear inhibits constructive dialogue and leaves parents feeling helpless and unheard. Another concerning issue that has repeatedly been brought to my attention is many familys are afraid to stand up for their children's rights because of retaliation against them from within the school ...a school should be a safe place for students and parents and each concern should be addressed seriously!

To address these issues, we are calling for:
1. A transparent review of school policies to ensure they are applied consistently across all student demographics.
2. The establishment of a clear communication channel between parents and the school administration to address grievances without fear of retaliation.
3. Create  an outlet for children when they feel picked on or targeted by administration for any reasonsomeone who is  other than the counselor within the district.

These changes are crucial for the well-being of our children and the health of our community. I urge the Neelyville School District to take immediate action and ensure all students are treated fairly and with respect.
