Address security concerns at caravan sites
Address security concerns at caravan sites
The Issue
My personal experience with a caravan site has left me deeply concerned about the security and management practices in place. I own two static caravans, both of which were illegally entered and removed from their designated pitches. This has not only caused me emotional distress but also financial strain.
We had already paid the site fees for 2026/2027
In these trying times, I have come to realize that I am not alone. Many caravan owners have faced similar issues, ranging from unauthorized access to property damage and theft. Such incidents highlight the lack of adequate security measures and effective oversight by caravan site management bodies.
Security should be the foremost priority at any caravan site. Owners and visitors trust these sites to provide a safe and secure environment for their leisure and investments. However, the absence of strict security protocols leaves people’s valuable possessions vulnerable to theft and vandalism. According to recent reports, crimes targeting caravan owners are on the rise. This alarming trend must be addressed immediately with effective and enforceable solutions.
We propose several actionable steps that caravan site management can take to enhance security and ensure peace of mind for all caravan owners. First, the issue of entering and removal of static caravans there needs to be permission in writing from both the owners and the site owners as we didn't get any communication from the site implementing advanced security technologies such as CCTV surveillance and electronic access controls can deter potential intruders. Second, regular patrols by security personnel can greatly increase the site’s safety levels. Additionally, thoroughly vetting anyone who accesses the site, whether staff or visitors, is critical.
We also urge authorities to conduct regular audits and establish a transparent system for reporting and resolving security breaches. These steps can significantly reduce the occurrence of crime and enhance the overall security standard at caravan sites.
By signing this petition, you are joining a collective effort to urge caravan site management and relevant authorities to take swift action in securing these locations. Let us come together to protect our properties, ensure our safety, and uphold peace of mind for every caravan owner. Please sign this petition to make effective changes in caravan site rules and security
