Yesterday, in broad daylight, my partner was stabbed by our next-door neighbour in Ruchazie, Glasgow This wasn't an isolated incident, but rather the latest escalation in a troubling series of antisocial behaviours we've endured for over three years. Living in constant fear and distress, knowing that a volatile environment surrounds our family, is no way to live. My children’s father is now a victim of senseless violence, and he's not the first in our neighbourhood.

Our community has been plagued by these disruptions for too long. While some measures have been taken, they clearly fall short of ensuring the safety and peace we all deserve. The presence of aggressive and dangerous individuals in our vicinity shatters the sense of security that every family has a right to expect in their own home. We cannot stand idly by while our homes become battlegrounds, our streets unsafe for children to play, and our lives dictated by fear.

To improve the situation, we call upon the local council and law enforcement agencies to take immediate and decisive action. First, there needs to be a thorough investigation of antisocial behaviour reports in our area, including proactive patrols to deter these harmful behaviours. It is crucial to establish a dedicated community task force focused on repairing and restoring community relations and safety.

Furthermore, we urge the implementation of an outreach program aimed at preventing violence and supporting both victims and offenders in seeking the necessary help capable of breaking this cycle of aggression. By investing in conflict resolution and mediation services, we can transform our neighbourhood into a safer and more harmonious place.

We need tighter regulations and quicker responses to reports of violence and antisocial actions. Without these changes, more innocent people will continue to suffer, and families like mine will feel trapped in their own homes.
