I've been a student at LISD for quite some time, and it pains me to say that the school environment poses significant challenges for students like me. Over the last few years, I've struggled with various issues that impact not just my academic performance but also my overall well-being. I'm writing this petition anonymously because I believe that these issues need urgent attention without risking my identity and safety.

First and foremost, bullying in our schools has become a prevalent problem that remains unaddressed. Despite numerous reports and pleas for intervention, many students who are bullied see no resolution nor consequences for the bullies. It has created an environment of fear and discomfort where students are unable to focus on their education as they should.

Another pressing issue is the restriction on school-issued iPads. These devices are meant to aid us in our education, yet the lockdown restrictions are so stringent that we can't even access necessary resources to complete our assignments efficiently. We can’t even save images without them being blurry. This negates the purpose of providing such technology to students.

Furthermore, the dress code for female students is becoming a growing concern. It is not just about self-expression but also about maintaining an appropriate and respectful learning environment. The current laxity in enforcing dress codes often results in distractions for many students during class hours.

Moreover, our access to music is restricted as we are required to pay for Apple Music instead of allowing us to use Spotify, which many of us already have subscriptions for. The ability to listen to music is vital for focus, especially for students like me who need it to concentrate while studying or doing assignments.

Lastly, there are teachers who, unfortunately, let some students off the hook for playing games during class. This inconsistency in enforcing discipline based on a student's academic ability is unfair and demotivates those of us who are trying to do our work honestly and diligently.

These issues require immediate intervention from the school administration to ensure that every student in LISD schools has a better and more equitable educational experience. Addressing these problems will lead to a more focused, respectful, and efficient academic environment.
