I am writing to lodge a serious complaint on behalf of Indian Muslims regarding the continuous insults against Islam and our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as well as the systematic targeting of Muslims in India. It is extremely painful to witness how certain groups and individuals—particularly those affiliated with Hindutva extremist groups and some Hindu organizations—are openly spreading hate, spitting venom, and insulting our faith on a daily basis.

India, known for its rich tapestry of cultures and religions, is currently witnessing distressing levels of intolerance and hostility towards its Muslim community. The Indian Constitution guarantees all citizens the right to freedom of religion and conscience, yet, we find ourselves confronting daily instances of hate speech and violence propagated by extremists. These acts not only undermine the secular fabric of our nation but also threaten the peace and unity we have fought so hard to achieve.

According to credible reports, there has been a significant rise in anti-Muslim rhetoric and hate crimes. For example, data from several watchdog organizations that monitor religious violence have shown a disturbing trend of increasing incidents of hate crimes against Muslims in recent years. These statistics cannot be ignored and depict a harsh reality that demands immediate action.

The government, as well as civil society organizations, must take definitive steps to curb this menace. Firstly, stringent laws must be enforced to penalize hate speech and religious discrimination. Also, authorities must ensure that complaints of religious intolerance are treated with urgency and seriousness. Furthermore, educational initiatives to promote communal harmony and tolerance should be prioritized to dismantle stereotypes and reduce prejudice.

We urge the Indian government and relevant authorities to acknowledge the severity of this issue and take prompt, concrete measures to protect the rights and dignity of Indian Muslims. Let us strive to uphold the true spirit of India—unity in diversity—and foster an environment where every citizen, regardless of their faith, feels safe and respected.
