Signs Needed to Protect the La Jolla Seals South of Point Mencinger!

Signs Needed to Protect the La Jolla Seals South of Point Mencinger!
The Issue
We are two young brothers who have a passion for wildlife, which is why we founded TERRA, and we need your help!
There are seals who are hauling out onto the sand beach just south of Point Mencinger in La Jolla, California. Unfortunately, there are currently no signs in this area to inform beach-goers of the Marine Mammal Protection Act which protects pinnipeds (seals, sea lions, and walruses) from harassment.
During Spring Break we visited the Point Mencinger area and were very saddened to see how many people were interacting with the seals and sea lions who were taking refuge on the beach. The picture above was taken March 30, 2016. Seals and their babies were touched, stepped over, had cameras put in their faces, were not viewed from any distance, had lines of people form between them and the ocean, and had lines of people separate some of the seals from the main group of seals.
Casa Beach, or Children's Pool, at Point Mencinger is an active rookery. A total of 51 births have occurred here this pupping season alone. When people get too close the lives of the baby seals are literally put in danger, the seals need our help!
Please sign this petition. We ask the City of San Diego to install permanent signage on the south side of Point Mencinger, that reflects the signage posted on the north side at the Children's Pool area, informing visitors that harassing or disturbing seals violates federal and local laws. Thank you!
