We are writing a petition to install a traffic light on Westbound Veterans Memorial Highway, and Coates Avenue in Holbrook. On April 12, 2023, at 1:20 pm we all lost a best friend, son, brother, cousin, and partner due to a car missing a yield sign, colliding into Aladdin Elfaham, resulting in the losses of loved ones, all taken before their time. We believe installing a traffic light at this location is a necessary safety measure to prevent future accidents and save lives. 

As we mourn the loss of our beloved Aladdin, Emmanuel, and Alanna, we cannot help but argue that this tragedy could have been avoided and prevented the loss of 3 lives. The busy intersection has caused many problems and concerns within the Holbrook community, especially at night. We argue that action must be taken to prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future.

Aladdin has touched the lives of so many people. He always had a smile on his face and brought joy to every place he ventured to. He, along with Emmanuel and Alanna, will be greatly missed. Adding a traffic light at the accident site is a way to honor our friends’ memories and ensure their passing was not in vain.
We can make a difference by taking action and advocating for the safety of all who use this road.
