I've been looking for more humane ways to eradicate rats other than the long, excruciating death that is caused by the anticoagulant rat poisons currently used by conservation groups. I understand that bird conservationists don't want the rats to kill the seabirds, but these rat poisons kills birds as well. Are there ways to do things so that rats, mice and other animals don't have to be killed too? I don't know, but there might be. Compassionate Conservation is a new concept that is growing in popularity, and there may be ways to do this without killing rats.
