Being a proud Texan, and a born and raised Texas Girl. I often find myself mentioning my home state in text more than 20 times a week. Like many others, the inclusion of a Texas shape emoji, colloquially known as the 'Texagon', would not only streamline my writing process, but also strengthen our statewide pride and identity.

While many national flags of the world and geographic specific features have found their way into the universal language of emojis, there is yet to be recognition for the unique Texan identity. Keyboards across the globe frequently update with newer emojis, yet the 'Texagon', a shape synonymous with the pride and history of one of the largest states in America, is missing.

Adding the 'Texagon' emoji would not just cater to the 29 million Texans who use their phones daily, but anyone across the globe who wishes to express love for our state, tout Texan pride, or simply share something specific about Texas.

Given the prominent presence of Texas in American culture and its notable shape, it only makes sense to have its symbol included in the array of emojis available on all phone operating systems. This campaign not only seeks recognition but also accessibility and the ease of expressing our identity digitally.
