Why this petition matters

Started by Emily Loerzel

The Lac Lacroix Indigenous Pony (LLIP or Ojibwe Pony) is a small horse developed by Anishinaabe people who are considered important helpers and relatives. Almost driven to extinction in the 1970s with 4 remaining mares, there are now less than 200 of these horses that exist in North America today. Adding this breed to the Conservation Priority List at the Livestock Conservancy will highlight the work and help this breed needs. Please join me in raising awareness of this breed and legitimizing efforts to allow this breed to flourish once again.
