The Issue

To: Bulkhead Interactive, Team17, and the WARDOGS Live Operations Team
From: The South African WARDOGS Community
Goal: Deploy official, low-latency WARDOGS game servers physically hosted in South Africa (Johannesburg/Cape Town) to serve the growing Southern African player base.

Why this matters:

WARDOGS is a 100-player tactical shooter where latency, tick rate, and server stability directly impact fairness and enjoyment. South African (ZA) players currently connect to distant “EU” or “ME/Africa” branded servers that are physically hosted overseas, resulting in:

- Consistently high ping (often 150–250+ ms) for ZA players
- Hit registration issues, rubber-banding, and desync in firefights
- A competitive disadvantage against players on nearby official servers
- Frustration that discourages new players from staying in the ecosystem

Despite this, the South African community has proven it can sustain full servers:

- The official WARDOGS ZA Discord has 600+ active players
- ZA-branded EU servers regularly fill to 100/100 with ZA players
- Multiple community hubs (Wardogs ZA, Boet’s World, Carbonite, Steam groups) show consistent, organized activity
- We are not asking for special treatment, only for the same opportunity players in NA, EU, SA (South America), and Oceania already have: official servers physically located in our region.

What we’re requesting:
Provision of official WARDOGS servers hosted in South Africa (preferably Johannesburg, with redundancy in Cape Town or Durban if possible).
Provide South Africans Game server Providers with the ability to Rent out/ Host Local WARDOGS Community servers

Dedicated server slots sized to support peak ZA/African union times (evenings and weekends SAST).
Inclusion of an “Africa – South” or “ZA” region option in the server browser and matchmaking, clearly labeled for local players.

Ongoing collaboration with the ZA community (via the official WARDOGS ZA Discord and other local hubs) to monitor performance, gather feedback, and adjust capacity as the player base grows.

Why this makes business sense:

Higher retention:
- Lower ping and better hit registration keeps players engaged longer and reduce frustration.
- Stronger monetization: A stable, local player base is more likely to invest in cosmetics, battle passes, and future content.

Community growth:
- Official ZA servers will attract new players from across Southern Africa who currently avoid the game due to latency.

Positive PR:
- Demonstrates Bulkhead/Team17’s commitment to a truly global player base, including underserved regions.

Our commitment:
The South African WARDOGS community is organized, active, and ready to support official servers:

- We will help promote the servers through local Discords, social media, and events.
- We will provide constructive feedback on performance, abuse, and server health.
- We will work with moderators and community managers to maintain a healthy environment.

Sign this petition if you believe:
South African players deserve official, low-latency WARDOGS servers.
The ZA community has proven it can fill and sustain servers.

Bulkhead/Team17 should invest in regions that show clear, sustained demand
