Brookside Parkway has several dangerous intersections because trees and curves make it difficult to see.  Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians all have problems at these intersections, which are at Groupe Rd/Lake Willow Ct; Aiken Dr.; and Riley Rd.  Attempts in 2023/2024 to turn these intersections into multi-way stops were unsuccessful because the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said the intersections did not qualify for stop signs.  However, Brookside residents say otherwise because we don't want to wait until there is an accident before VDOT takes action.  

With encouragement from my local representative, Mr. Ike Broaddus, I will take this petition to the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors on November 14 in hopes they will pass a resolution of support.  After that, I will take the petition and resolution to the local VDOT office (or higher) to continue fighting to change these intersections to make them safer.
