Add More LGBT History to HISTORY

According to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD's) 2011-2012 Network Responsibility Index, only 3% (12 hours) of HISTORY's (The History Channel) 379 hours of original programming included any kind of LGBT impressions.
This is the lowest percentage of all cable networks included in GLAAD's 2012 Index.

As noted by GLAAD, HISTORY has "the opportunity to bust some stereotypes and show that the LGBT community really is made up of people from all backgrounds and walks of life."
I founded the St. Louis LGBT History Project to help preserve and promote our region's important contributions to queer history. I have such deep respect and admiration for my LGBT elders. Their stories are educational, motivational and inspirational.

On a national level, I'm sure you will agree that LGBT history certainly merits more than just 12 hours a year in programming from HISTORY.
As we celebrate LGBT History Month in October (founded in St. Louis by the way), please take a moment to encourage HISTORY to include more LGBT-related programming with its wide range of adventurous reality programs and its historical documentaries.
There are countless stories of struggles and success to be told, including many being preserved by LGBT history projects across the globe.
Our community’s history and contributions to society are part of world history. By adding more LGBT-related content, HISTORY would truly be making history.
