Hello ladies and gentlemen,

This petition aims to help us add Kosovo to the ethnic origins and genealogy company MyHeritage.

MyHeritage is an extraordinary company. But unfortunately, despite the passing years, MyHeritage does nothing to ensure that Kosovo is added.

This situation prevents us from conducting research because the country is not recognized on MyHeritage. When we make our family tree and put the birthplaces, it shows unknown country. In the place of residence, we also cannot put Kosovo, forcing clients to select Albania or another country. The vast majority of Albanian clients come from Kosovo, yet they cannot even select their own country.

Moreover, for albanians, myheritage puts in the genetic groups : albanians in albania, serbia and north macedonia. While it is not Serbia but Kosovo.

MyHeritage is an Israeli company, and since 2021, Israel has recognized and established exceptional diplomatic relations with Kosovo. Indeed, Albanians have been historical friends of Israel and the Jewish people since World War II.

We expect nothing more from a historical friend than to correct this small issue to facilitate our research and allow us to select our country of origin.

To help MyHeritage solve the problem, for example with the family treeand even for the entire site, they can use this map: https://www.openstreetmap.org/ It is a superb open-source map, and for each country, it includes cities in their original language, which can further facilitate research for all MyHeritage clients since cities often have different spellings in other languages.
