Add Georgian keyboard to Kindle Paperwhite

The Issue

I am a proud owner of a Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition, 12th generation. However, I've encountered a significant limitation that affects not only me but countless Georgians who share my love for reading. My Kindle currently lacks a Georgian keyboard, making it challenging for us to fully utilize its capabilities and enjoy the literary wealth of our language.

As a Georgian, I find the absence of our native keyboard on a sophisticated device like the Kindle disheartening. It is essential not only for personal use but for the broader Georgian community that relies on Kindle for reading and annotating texts in our beautiful language.

Furthermore, the Georgian alphabet holds a special place in our hearts and cultural heritage. In 2016, it was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This acknowledgment underscores the importance of preserving and promoting our alphabet, and having it readily available on digital platforms like Kindle is a crucial step in this direction.

Despite reaching out to Amazon support for help, I have yet to see any positive change. Therefore, I am starting this petition to urge Amazon to include a Georgian keyboard in the next software update for Kindle devices. This improvement would significantly enhance the reading experience for all Georgian Kindle users, allowing us to engage with our language more freely and meaningfully.

In a world increasingly governed by technology, inclusivity and cultural respect in digital spaces are vital. Adding a Georgian keyboard to Kindle is not only a practical solution but a meaningful gesture towards cultural recognition and diversity.

I invite all Kindle users and supporters of digital inclusivity to sign this petition. Let's come together to encourage Amazon to make Kindle more accessible for Georgians and honour our rich cultural heritage. Sign now to make this change a reality!
