Add emojis for the planets of the solar system to unicode

The Issue

This is a petition to the Unicode Consortium to add an an emoji for each of the main planets of the solar system to Unicode, namely:

  • Mercury
  • Venus
  • Mars
  • Jupiter
  • Saturn
  • Uranus
  • Neptune
  • and Pluto

There are many emojis of comparable or even lesser utility, such as "man levitating", "alien monster", "ninja", etcetera. Unicode characters for these planets have great utility.

These planets have been a major part of the development of culture, history, science, and civilization for thousands of years -- they each deserve their own spot in the Unicode system.
