In recent news, there has been an increase in dangerous acts on TTC buses and subways.

A woman was recently pushed onto the subway tracks by a stranger. The CEO of the TTC said that the women "chose to stand close to the edge of the platform." The company is victim-blaming the women. It is not her fault that she was pushed.

The TTC needs to be held accountable for its actions. We need barriers now! We shouldn't wait until someone is pushed or they fall into the tracks for something to happen. Barriers will ensure people's safety when riding the TTC. Many European and Asian countries already have barriers for subways.

The TTC is the main public transportation method for the people of Toronto. Millions of people use it to commute to school, work, and activities every day. The fear and anxiety when riding the TTC is now at an all-time high.

The TTC estimated it will cost them $1 billion to install barriers. They don't want to pay because they don't value their riders lives. But how can you put a cost on people's safety? It's 2022 and we are hearing more horrible things happen on the TTC every day. Another person shouldn't have to die for the TTC to take responsibility for its riders.
