Hi Everyone,

Make Us Visible Florida’s bills HB 287 and SB 294 have been filed.  These bills would require the instruction of AAPI history in Florida’s k-12 curriculum.

In the House, we have 45 bipartisan co sponsors and passed 3 House Committees.

In the Senate Committee we have 15 co sponsors and passed 1 committee.

We still have a long way to go before the bill will be signed into law.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We have not been placed on the agenda for the next Senate committee which will soon end.  We need constituents in the Naples area (Collier, Lee or Hendry counties) to call SENATE PRESIDENT PASSIDOMO and tell her how important this bill is!

So please reach out on social media and ask ANYONE who lives in Collier, Lee or Hendry counties in Florida to contact Senate President Passidomo as a concerned constituent and share how important SB 294 is to them.

See info below.

Thank you!

Mimi

Hello Senator PASSIDOMO.

My name is [NAME], and I’m a resident of [CITY IN FLORIDA]. I’m getting in touch to ask that you put SB 294, Required Instruction in the History of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, on the agenda for the next meeting of the Senate Appropriations Committee on Education and to vote favorably for the bill.

I NOTICED IT WAS LEFT OFF THE COMMITTEE MEETING FOR 4/18 AND I’M REQUESTING IT BE ADDED ON.This bill is important to me because [YOUR REASON]. I would like to see the bill passed this year.

Thank you!
