Arabic is one of the world's most widely spoken languages, with hundreds of millions of speakers across more than 20 countries. Yet Arabic remains absent from the system language options on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

As a result, Arabic-speaking players must navigate system menus, settings, parental controls, and other features in languages other than their own, creating an unnecessary barrier for users who would prefer to use their native language.

Nintendo's November 2025 system update added Thai and Polish to the language options on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. We ask Nintendo to extend the same consideration to Arabic-speaking players.

Our Request
We ask Nintendo to introduce Arabic language support across the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 system experience, including:

- Arabic as a System Language: Add Arabic as an official language option for system menus, settings, and parental controls.

- Proper Arabic Text Support: Implement right-to-left layouts, correct Arabic character shaping, and Arabic text input to ensure a comfortable and accessible experience.

- Arabic Support for Digital Services: Expand Arabic language support across the Nintendo eShop experience and official support resources wherever feasible.

Looking Ahead: Arabic Game Localization
We also encourage Nintendo to introduce Arabic menus and subtitles in first-party games over time, allowing Arabic-speaking players to enjoy more games in their native language.

Why This Matters
The lack of Arabic language support can also influence purchasing decisions. Some potential buyers may hesitate to purchase a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 because they cannot use the system in their native language. This creates a barrier not only for existing users but also for people who might otherwise join the Nintendo gaming community.

Adding Arabic as a system language could help remove this barrier, improve accessibility, and help Nintendo build a stronger relationship with Arabic-speaking players across the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond.

Other major gaming platforms offer Arabic language support, demonstrating the importance of language accessibility in gaming. We encourage Nintendo to recognize this need and consider Arabic as a valuable addition to its language options.

نطالب نينتندو بتوفير دعم اللغة العربية في تجربة استخدام جهازي Nintendo Switch وNintendo Switch 2، بما يشمل:

العربية كلغة للنظام: إضافة اللغة العربية كخيار رسمي لقوائم النظام والإعدادات وأدوات الرقابة الأبوية.

دعم العربية بشكل صحيح: توفير واجهات تدعم الكتابة من اليمين إلى اليسار، وعرض الحروف العربية بأشكالها المتصلة الصحيحة، وإتاحة إدخال النصوص العربية، لضمان تجربة استخدام مريحة وسهلة الوصول.

دعم العربية في الخدمات الرقمية: توسيع دعم اللغة العربية ليشمل تجربة استخدام متجر Nintendo eShop وصفحات الدعم الرسمية، حيثما أمكن.

خطوة مستقبلية: تعريب الألعاب
كما نشجع نينتندو على إضافة القوائم والترجمة النصية باللغة العربية إلى ألعابها الحصرية تدريجيًا، حتى يتمكن اللاعبون الناطقون بالعربية من الاستمتاع بمزيد من الألعاب بلغتهم الأم.
