Trophy Club is more than just a town to me—it's my home, where I am raising three teenage drivers. Recently, I had a heart-stopping moment with my youngest driver as we attempted to navigate the perilous merge into the single left-hand turning lane on the Highway 114  service road.  I imagine this is what it feels like being on a NASCAR track, trying to safely maneuver amid a bottleneck of traffic. Fortunately, my daughter was attentive, but no driver—young or experienced—should face such dangerous conditions when simply trying to turn into our community.

The current traffic configuration at this crucial highway access point is not only inconvenient but dangerous and beyond frustrating. The existing configuration of a single left-hand turning lane that doubles as a U-turn lane results in frequent and time consuming backups. In addition, two busy roadways merging into one congested lane is an accident waiting to happen. As more families move to our town, the situation will only worsen, increasing the potential for injury or worse.

By adding an additional left-hand turning lane, we can significantly reduce the congestion and risks currently posed by the single turning lane. This change will create a safer, more efficient flow of traffic, reduce stress for drivers—including new teenage drivers—and enhance the overall safety for everyone trying to enter Trophy Club, pass through to other communities and the drivers entering the Charles Schwab campus. 

Let us urge the town planners and the state and local authorities to take immediate action. The safety and well-being of drivers depends on it. Reinforcing this critical entry point to Trophy Club with an adequate turning lane is not just a matter of convenience—it's a matter of safety.
