I personally have seen too many people I went to school with lose their lives on this highway before even reaching their 20s. It's a heart-wrenching reality that we face daily in Jefferson County. The anguish of losing a loved one in such a preventable manner is something no one should have to bear. Despite the repeated tragedies, there has been minimal action from the city to enhance safety measures on this perilous road.

Highway 30 has become a danger zone, particularly at the intersection with Upper Byrnes Mill Road, due to the negligence of both drivers and insufficient city safety protocols.
