The stray dog in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) has been an iconic non-player character (NPC) for a very long time. For many players, the stray dog holds nostalgic memories, as it's been a constant presence in the game. Recently, RuneScape 3 released a quest that finally gives the stray dog a home, an update that will surely delight many players by acknowledging the dog's long-standing role in the game. As an avid player of OSRS, it is important to me and countless others in our community that we extend this gesture to OSRS as well.

For years, this lovable NPC has wandered the streets, accompanying players on their adventures (even if not by choice), serving as a virtual companion at least for those few moments running from the Varrock fountain to the west bank before being shoo’d away. Adding a quest to provide this dog a home in OSRS would not only enhance the game experience but also strengthen community ties by bringing players together for a common goal.

The addition of a simple quest to offer the stray dog a home would show that the developers listen and care about the sentiments of their loyal player base. Such a quest could introduce new challenges and rewards, enriching the game and creating more opportunities for player engagement. It can be designed to suit players of all levels, providing a new in-game storyline that pays homage to the loyal companion.

We ask the developers at Jagex to implement this in OSRS. By doing so, they will demonstrate their commitment to player feedback and their willingness to celebrate the longstanding characters that make OSRS a beloved game.
