Add a Mute Button for Hold Music

Add a Mute Button for Hold Music
The Issue
Throughout my life — whether at the doctors, the bank, or the hospital — there is always hold music. I always hear people complaining about it, but there’s never a button to mute it and still hear when the agent is available. Some companies already have this feature, but my petition is to make sure every company offers a mute button.
I remember once hearing my dad stuck on hold for nearly an hour while trying to book a hospital appointment. The music was so loud and repetitive that I ended up with a headache just from being in the room. I kept wishing there was a simple button to turn it off.
Why this matters:
Choice – If you like hold music, you can keep it on. If you don’t, there should be a mute button.
Accessibility – Some people find music stressful, painful, or frustrating (for example, people with sensory or concentration issues).
Feasibility – Phone systems already switch between music, queue announcements, and agents, so adding a mute toggle isn’t technically hard.
Public demand – Many people complain about hold music being annoying or repetitive. This petition would please a huge number of callers.
The mute button would still let you hear queue announcements and the agent’s voice — while giving everyone the freedom to choose silence or music
Nobody should be forced to listen to endless hold music — we should have the right to choose silence if we want. Please support this petition so you have the choice- always.
