Requiring a half portion option in restaurants would greatly impact the amount of food that is put into landfills everyday. Research has recently found that 84% of leftover food is put into landfills which creates harmful chemicals for our environment, very little is donated. If we donated half of this amount of food waste we could help so many people who are starving on the streets or going to soup kitchens all the time. These people need our help and the best way to do it is just to donate the food that we are not going to eat. Not only that, but food waste is another harmful factor that increases global warming in our world. We all can make a change in helping not only ourselves and the planet, but we can also make a change for future generations!
