Recently, a young child was struck by a car at the intersection of Traymore Lane and Terra Lane during school dismissal.  Many students walking home witnessed the accident. Situations like this shake the entire community. 

This wasn’t a random or unpredictable accident — this issue has been discussed among parents and members of the community for some time, and many have expressed concerns about how difficult the intersection is for young children to navigate.  The combination of narrow roads, heavy foot traffic, and cars parked along both sides of the street creates a situation where drivers cannot see small children until it's too late.

We are urging the city officials and the Bowie Police Department to assign a dedicated crossing guard to Traymore Lane and Terra Lane. By taking this crucial step, we can prevent future tragedies and demonstrate our commitment to creating a safer environment for our children and the entire community.
