Add 1.8 PvP Option in 1.20 Minecraft Java Versions

Add 1.8 PvP Option in 1.20 Minecraft Java Versions
The Issue
When did you start playing Minecraft? And how did you come across it?
I'm going to guess most of you came across the game through epic PvP videos on YouTube in 2016.
Minecraft had a massive social media scene before the introduction of post-1.8.9 PvP mechanics. You could find PvP, survival, moded and a plethora of other content - all with millions views.
We need to provide Minecraft servers with the backend ability to enable 1.8.9 PvP and movement mechanics on 1.20+ versions.
Minecraft content certainly commands millions of views today. But its content range is limited: just about all the top videos are only SMP content. And they don't produce the same number of platform-dominating names that PvP content did.
But survival content is not only what made Minecraft the mega success it is today. PvP and other multiplayer experiences were integral to the game's success and pioneered the Minecraft content genre; they are among the most-watched videos of all time.
Nearly a decade after the update, and post-1.8.9 multiplayer PvP content and games have yet to take off. Can you imagine Technoblade pioneering his career on those mechanics?
There is validity to the 1.21-style mechanics for survival gameplay - but it is severely more optimized for PvE and severely unoptimized for PvP.
That's why we need Minecraft to give multiplayer servers the backend option to enable 1.8.9 PvP mechanics on 1.20 versions.
Minecraft can keep 1.21 PvP mechanics on survival gamemodes and multiplayer ones too, but servers that are built for 1.8.9 can gain access to Minecraft's wonderful new features and content.
