It appears the current Committee at ADCV have no idea who I am and have no idea of my need to train my dog(s) at this Club. I have been asked by a club official to contact the Memberships Officer and lodge an application form to join the club. Today I have rung the phone number listed on the Club's website which has been confirmed as being correct. I have left a message today and have been told by the club official I will receive a response.
I have left messages on numerous occasions on this phone number previously and there has been no response whatsoever.
The officer I was speaking to was very nice and supportive, They had no knowledge of this issue, they now understand this issue has remained an issue for a 10 year period.
BACKGROUND
I lodged a complaint in 2012 as advised and no one from the Club ever contacted me in attempt to resolve this matter which is an obligation of the Club. They instead chose to cancel my life membership. I have since sought legal advice and have been told a life membership is for life and there is no provision in the constitution for it to be cancelled. This was communicated years ago. The club has chosen not to respond.
My 80-year old parents unfortunately were accused of "stalking" when they attempted to visit the ground last year and speak to the Club President.
I was told yesterday the situation is "ludicrous" after a 10 year period. Apparently the club is currently seeking members. I wish to train my dogs. Due to work commitments, I simply can not train elsewhere.
Morgan is now aged 5, Flynn is now aged 4. I had hoped to start training Morgan when she was 6 months of age, we still are no closer to doing so. I regret my dogs are the ones who are missing out due to the silliness of people. This has been valuable time wasted.
A complaint was lodged, it should have been dealt with and a recommendation should have happened many years ago. No woman should be the recipient of sexually harassing comments nor should they be excluded from a club for lodging a complaint and expecting to be heard. To be heard and to be treated with respect is, infact, my right and, indeed, the right of all club members.
