Demi Lardner has made a career of hate in Australia with her "comedy tour". Demi Lardner is no “provocateur". She is not a comedian. This is not satire. It is not about free speech. She is dangerous and should not be allowed in Australia.

Lardner is an alt-right leader and founder of the anti-gay group, Families Against Gays in Schools. In a video describing F.A.G.S., Lardner calls members of the LBGTQIA community: “Glitter Piss Grubs", "Bum Presidents" and "Sin Bitches". She then goes on to suggest they not be allowed in schools or near children. Stating they belong in salons and candle farms.

Lardner has defended her "act" as satirical but in a time where so many oppressed communities are feeling threatened by the political atmosphere.. Where far-right political regimes are cutting access to education..  There is nothing funny about denying members of the LBGTIAQIIA community the human right of an education. 

Further, Demi has apparently found humor in making racist hand signs. Although a seemingly innocent enough gesture, this is most certainly a racist dog-whistle to her alt-right fan base.

The thought of Demi Lardner remaining in this country to spread hate is extremely concerning. The fact that her hate speech is often accompanied by violence which is extremely concerning.  A woman who encourages bigotry, who formed hate group and that serially engages in discrimination should not be allowed into Australia. We should not allow Australia to become the last hope of such a group.

I believe any Australians who care about a fair and just society should not accept this as the norm. We should make it clear that: No, Australia is not the last hope for a homophobic extremist. Stand with the LBGTIAQIIAQNAAIIP community.
